Do you take insurance, and how does that work?
Yes I do. However, to determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, the first thing you should do is call them. Check your coverage carefully and make sure you understand their answers.
Some helpful questions you can ask them:
- What are my mental health benefits?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- What is the yearly limit of my coverage?
- How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
- How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
- Is a referral required from my primary care physician?
Professional services are charged based on income, feasibility, and/or level of insurance coverage which is individually arranged with each client.
Sliding Fee Schedule:
There is no OHIP coverage for psychology services in Ontario, only for medical conditions. Therefore, you will need to carefully check with your insurance provider to determine the type, degree, amount, and duration of psychological coverage you have under your plan.
Please check your coverage carefully by asking your carrier some of the following questions:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Please note: I am affiliated with Mills Psychology and I am a supervised associate.
